Job summary

FORMA-FAB METALS, INC. is seeking a skilled Welder to fabricate parts per specifications using MIG/TIG welding. The role involves reading blueprints, planning layouts, setting up and adjusting equipment, and ensuring high-quality penetration in all positions.

Qualifications

• HS education with a minimum of 2 years welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding specifications and symbols.
• Must operate welding equipment and maintain quality penetration in all positions.

Responsibilities

• Perform efficient welding of carbon steel, aluminum and stainless using MIG and TIG.
• Analyze drawings, specs, work orders and MSDS to plan welding operations.
• Set up, troubleshoot, adjust equipment; inspect work and document in ERP.
• Report non-conforming material to leaders; maintain accurate data in ERP.

Job description

Shift: Monday-Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, overtime as needed

Position Summary:

To weld and fabricate parts in accordance with specifications and per company workmanship standards by performing the following functions.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

• Perform efficient welding of various metal objects, including heavy and light gauge carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless, using both MIG and TIG equipment
• Analyze blueprints/drawings, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
• Set up, troubleshoot, and adjust equipment
• Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
• Report all non-conforming material to the Welding Team Leader and/or Shop Foreman immediately
• Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global

Requirements:

• Maintain excellent attendance and possess the flexibility to work overtime
• HS education with a minimum of 2 years welding experience
• Possess a solid understanding of welding equipment and tooling
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, and welding symbols
• Must be able to operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments
• Must have the ability to weld in all positions with good penetration and quality
• Must be able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level, square, and use a variety of power tools
• Work independently and follow direction
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Basic computer skills

A welding test will be administered as part of the application process
