Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Horseshoe Beach, FL is seeking a welder for our production team. You will read blueprints, set weld parameters, and operate overhead cranes while ensuring quality beads and safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Welding experience in a production environment (1+ year) or welding certification.
• Ability to read tapes, blueprints, and specs.
• Willingness to train and operate forklift and crane.

Responsibilities

• Know and follow safety rules for manufacturing environments.
• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel and gas flow with bead quality.
• Read a tape measure and blueprints to shop standard.
• Decide when adjustments to welding parameters are needed.
• Determine repairs for pin holes and burn-through from welding.
• Train and teach proper welding procedures per manufacturing procedures.
• Operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment.
• Maintain bead shape, size, and penetrations while ensuring product quality.
• Keep numerical and alphabetical sequences correct.
• Support continuous improvement in the work area.
• Communicate effectively while performing duties.

Job Description

JOB DETAILS

Pay Rate: $19 - $22 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities

• Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment
• Responsible for coordination of welder settings, gun speed/travel and gas flow with observed condition of bead
• Ability to read a tape measure and blue prints to shop standard
• Ability to decide when adjustment or gun manipulation needs to be altered
• Ability to decide how much and what repairs to make for pin holes and burn through caused by auto welder
• Ability to train and teach proper welding procedures in accordance with manufacturing job procedures
• Ability to operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment
• Responsible for holding bead to specified shape, size and penetrations while maintain the quality of the product
• Responsible for keeping numerical and alphabetical sequences correct
• Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area
• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience welding in a production environment or valid welding certification
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings
• Experience with a forklift and/or overhead crane operation a plus
• Comfort and familiarity with power hand tools
• Willingness to train, certify, and operate forklift and overhead crane
• Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• General mathematical knowledge and proficiency with basic measuring instruments
