Ericson Manufacturing in Willoughby, OH is seeking a skilled Welder to join our production team on a four 10-hour shift schedule (6:00 AM–4:30 PM, M–Th). Overtime Fridays may be required based on demand.

The position involves welding, assembly prep, and finishing per drawings, with emphasis on quality and safety. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of welding experience (aluminum MIG and TIG preferred), reads blueprints, and uses various welding processes.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years welding experience (aluminum MIG/TIG preferred).
  • Ability to read electrical/mechanical blueprints and follow drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret weld requirements from drawings and specs.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment safely.
  • Finish welds and perform grinding/cleanup as required.
  • Inspect finished parts for conformance to specs.
  • Assist in fixture setup and tool changes as needed.

While the regular schedule is Monday through Thursday, employees should expect overtime opportunities, including many Fridays, based on customer demand and production needs.Other Shift Options include:4:00 AM - 2:30 PM (M-TH)5:00 AM - 3:30 PM (M-TH)**General Purpose: **Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction performing the following duties:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Proficient in assigned welding techniques.Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology.Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials.Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.Clean and prepare product for final assemblyIgniting flame or striking an arc while welding or performing other electricity-related work to weld part of a metal structure.Clamping, holding, tack-welding, heat-bending, bolting, or grinding spare parts as necessary to satisfy the technical requirements and create a welded final product.Operating safety working equipment and applying safety practice at work while performing his/her duties.Operating other accessory equipment and performing some tasks necessary for welding metal, such as fusing metal segments, using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and other types of welding arcs.Control the processes of fitting, burning and welding to avoid problems in relation to overheat, distortion, expansion or shrink of spare parts.Examining finish products and spare parts and comparing them with samples to check whether the specifications are met.Being in charge of preparing and setting up necessary tools and equipment for welding job such as shielded metal arc, gas metal arc or other welding equipment.Arranging and assuring the welded parts to be arranged in order before being assembled into final products, using such tools as square, caliper or ruler for this task.Welding equipment maintenance.Assist in design of fixturingAssist in repairs as necessaryOther duties as assigned by supervisor.Minimum Qualifications, Education and Certifications:High School diploma, or equivalentTo perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential/duty satisfactorilyWorks with limited supervisionMust be able to read and understand electrical and mechanical blueprints, production/assembly instructions, parts lists, verbal instruction and notesAbility to apply previous experience to perform detailed written or oral instructions.Must have the ability to resolve minor problems as they ariseMinimum 3-5 years’ experience in various forms of welding, specifically aluminum MIG welding and TIG welding mix of school and work acceptablePreferred certification to welding standard AWS D1.2, or equivalent in aluminum standards (this certification will have to be obtained if not already possessed)**Physical requirements of the position: **Walking, standing, bending, stooping and sittingLifting and carrying up to 75 pounds occasionally ; frequently 35 poundsGood hand/eye coordinationEricson offers competitive compensationJob Type: Full-time
