Job summary

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Reading and understanding work instructions prior to starting a projectDetermine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirementsSourcing the materials to be used in the projectMeasuring and cutting materials to specificationsSet up components for welding according to specificationsOperate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be weldedAlign components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp piecesWeld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead) Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals togetherChecking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprintsRepair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gapsTest and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flawsAbility to measure accurately using a measuring tapeAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.Ability to read and communicate instructions.Ability to maintain production standards, guidelines and specificationsAbility to work towards improving productivity without compromising quality.Ability to maintain a clean and orderly workstation and production floor.Report any issues to the supervisor on duty.Perform related duties as assigned by supervisorMaintain compliance with all health and safety standards and company policies and proceduresAvailable to work shift workWorking Conditions:Temperature controlled environment indoorsModerate noise levelsSitting 40 %Standing 40% / Walking 20 %Vision The ability to see details at close range within a few feet of the observerAbility to work a standard 40-hour work week, but overtime may be necessary to meet deadlines or quotasDisclosure:This job description may not be inclusive of all assigned duties, responsibilities, or aspects of the job described, and may be amended at any time at the sole discretion of the Employer.
