Job description

Position Summary

The Legacy Companies, LLC is seeking a skilled Welder to join our manufacturing team in Waynesboro, Georgia. This position is responsible for setting up and operating welding equipment to perform complex welding operations on a wide range of metals and alloys. The role involves fabricating and welding subassemblies and assemblies that require high strength, pressure integrity, and exceptional aesthetic quality. Experience working with stainless steel is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble, align, square, and tack weld a variety of complex subassemblies and assemblies.
  • Utilize blueprints, measuring tools, fixtures, templates, clamps, jacks, and related equipment to ensure proper alignment and assembly.
  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on various metals and alloys as required.
  • Produce high-quality welds that meet structural, pressure, and cosmetic specifications.
  • Inspect completed work to verify adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate welding and fabrication equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of formal welding training or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience welding stainless steel.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience using:
    • Hand tools
    • Grinders
    • Air tools
    • Welding machines
    • Measuring instruments and related fabrication equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Certification Requirements
  • Must successfully obtain ASME Certification upon completion of company‑provided training.
  • Must maintain ASME Certification throughout employment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally (floor to waist).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently (floor to waist).
  • Ability to perform the following activities on a continuous basis:
    • Standing
    • Walking
    • Bending/stooping
    • Squatting/kneeling
    • Lifting
Additional Physical Demands
  • Participation in two-person lifting tasks as needed.
  • Use of assistive devices for lifting, pushing, and pulling, including:
    • Hand trucks
    • Forklifts
    • Pallet jacks
    • Hoists
