Scion Steel Inc. in Warren, MI is seeking a skilled welder to join our fabrication team. You will read blueprints, set up welding equipment, and perform welds in multiple positions to meet project specs.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of GMAW and fabrication experience, a welding certificate (AWS D1.1), and the ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes. We offer benefits and a standard 40-hour week with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Welding certificate in AWS D1.1 or equivalent standard.

• Ability to read tape measure.
• Capable of reading and understanding build prints.
• Proficient in use of hand plasma and angle grinder.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces.
• Perform welding operations in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead) as needed.
• Operate heavy machinery and equipment, such as cranes and forklifts, to move and position steel.

Job description

Experience: GMAW and Fabrication: 2+ years

Reports to: Plant Manager

Their skilled craftsmanship ensures the quality and reliability of our products. We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented welder with a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities include:

Schedule:

• 8-10 hour shift
• Morning Shift: 6:00am – 4:30pm Evening shift: 4:00pm – 2:30am
• Monday to Friday, sometimes Saturday.

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Warren, MI 48089: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
