Job summary

Aerotek in Troy, MI is seeking a skilled Welder to join our manufacturing team producing stainless steel exhaust systems. The role focuses on manual TIG welding with some robotic welding tasks when demand shifts.

Candidates should have experience reading blueprints, welding stainless steel 1/8" to 1/2" and at least 2 years of TIG welding; 3–5 years preferred. On-site, contract-to-hire with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in TIG welding.
• At least 1 year of experience in stainless steel welding with thicknesses ranging from 1/8" to 1/2".
• 3-5 years of TIG welding experience is preferred.
• Experience with robotics is advantageous.
• Ability to read blueprints and repair aluminum welding.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled welder to join our team in manufacturing stainless steel exhaust systems. This position primarily focuses on manual welding but also includes operating and troubleshooting robotic weld machines when manual welding demand is lower.

Responsibilities

• Lay out components of exhaust systems, clamp into place, and perform TIG welding.

Work Environment

The job site is located at the 1201 Building. The work environment is fast-paced but clean, with some areas louder than others. Be prepared for consistent loud noises from machinery. The facility operates on two shifts: 1st Shift from Monday to Thursday, 6am to 4:30pm, with occasional overtime on Fridays, and 2nd Shift from Monday to Thursday, 4pm to 2am, with occasional overtime on Fridays. Equipment includes automated tube benders, welder machines, ABB material handling robots, conveyors, and PLCs from Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Beckhoff. The dress code mandates steel-toe shoes at all times, while safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection will be provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
