Job summary

Pcapower is seeking an experienced welder to fabricate, repair, and maintain equipment used in foundation drilling operations, including drill rigs, augers, kelly bars, casings, drill tooling, and support trucks. The role combines shop fabrication with on-site field welding to keep equipment job-ready and minimize downtime.

Candidates with hands-on knowledge of foundation drilling or deep foundation construction are preferred but not required.

We are seeking an experienced Welder to fabricate, repair, and maintain equipment used in foundation drilling operations, including drill rigs, augers, kelly bars, casings, drill tooling, and support trucks and trailers. This role involves both shop-based fabrication and on-site repair work at active drilling sites, keeping equipment safe and job-ready. Candidates with hands‑on knowledge of the foundation drilling or deep foundation construction industry are strongly preferred, though not required.

Duties
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on steel and alloy components for drill rigs, augers, kelly bars, casings, and drill tooling
  • Fabricate and repair augers, auger teeth/flighting, drill buckets, casing, and other downhole tooling
  • Repair worn, cracked, or damaged equipment resulting from heavy drilling use, including structural components on rigs and carriers
  • Build or modify custom tooling and attachments based on job-specific drilling requirements
  • Inspect welds and completed work for quality, strength, and compliance with safety standards
  • Cut, grind, and prep metal surfaces prior to welding, including hardfacing/wear-resistant overlay on tooling
  • Travel to active drilling sites to perform field welding repairs and minimize rig downtime
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and repair specifications
  • Maintain welding equipment and shop tools in safe, working condition
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, materials used, and work performed
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper PPE use, ventilation, and fire prevention procedures
Requirements
  • Required:
  • 2+ years of experience as a welder/fabricator, or equivalent technical training/certification
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding on steel and alloy materials
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and repair specifications
  • Ability to work both in‑shop and in the field, including at active drilling job sites and outdoor conditions
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Preferred (a plus, not required):

  • Experience welding on drill rigs, augers, kelly bars, casing, or other foundation drilling equipment
  • Familiarity with the foundation drilling or deep foundation construction industry and its equipment demands
  • Experience with hardfacing or wear-resistant overlay welding on drilling tooling
  • CDL license — not required, but helpful for moving equipment or responding to job sites
  • AWS certification or equivalent welding credentials
  • Experience with structural and heavy equipment repair welding
