We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder to provide high-quality welding services for various projects. The Welder will perform welding, fabrication, and repair tasks on infrastructure, equipment, and facilities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications. This role requires expertise in multiple welding techniques, the ability to work with diverse materials, and a commitment to delivering durable and precise welds in both shop and field environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding tasks using techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core welding on materials including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Fabricate, repair, and maintain assets, including structural components, pipelines, heavy equipment, and vehicles.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute welding projects accurately.
  • Conduct inspections of welds to ensure quality, structural integrity, and compliance with industry codes (e.g., AWS, ASME).
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment, tools, and machinery, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
  • Collaborate with staff, contractors, and supervisors to plan and complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including OSHA regulations, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Document work performed, including materials used and hours worked, for project tracking and reporting.
  • Respond to emergency repair needs, including after-hours or weekend work, as required.
  • Assist with other maintenance or fabrication tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; completion of a recognized welding apprenticeship or vocational training program preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional welding experience, preferably in industrial or construction settings.
  • Valid welding certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX) relevant to structural and pipe welding.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core welding techniques across various metals.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of welding safety standards and practices, including proper use of PPE.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred but not required.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with projects involving water utilities, bridges, or large facilities.
  • Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods for weld inspection.
  • Additional certifications in related trades (e.g., pipefitting, metal fabrication).
  • Work is performed in both indoor shop settings and outdoor field locations, including construction sites and utility installations.
  • Exposure to loud noises, fumes, extreme temperatures, and hazardous materials; adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
  • May require overtime, weekend, or on-call availability for emergency repairs.
