Job summary

Chipton-Ross Inc. is seeking multiple welders for a contract opportunity in Charleston, SC. This role involves welding aluminum and steel parts to tight tolerances, following engineering drawings and specifications.

Candidates must meet the listed education and PPE requirements and be able to work full-time on a 9/80 schedule with a second shift from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 5 years education/experience or 3 years with Apprentice/Associate degree.
• May require certification.
• Must be able to meet PPE requirements listed above.

Responsibilities

• Performs welding on aluminum and steel parts to required tolerances.
• Welds according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Monitors and verifies quality per control procedures.

Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Welders for a contract opportunity in Charleston, SC.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

• High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years additional education and/or related experience; Apprentice graduate/ associate's degree in relevant discipline and 3 years of related experience. May require certification.
• PPE:
• 1. MSA Comfo Classic Half/Full Face Respirators OR Respirator 3M Speedglass PAPR 9100MP ADFLO.
• 2. 1401173 3M DBI SALA EXOFIT X100 14 Harness.
• 3. 3500276 Nano-Lok Edge Twin leg PER. Self-Retract Lanyards.
• 4. MSA Skull Guard Hard Hat (WHITE).
• 5. Welding shield compatible with MSA Skull Guard Hard Hat with shields.
• 6. 3M PELTOR Optime 95 Earmuffs H6B/V ***WE DO NOT USE EAR PLUGS***
• 7. Kleenguard Calico safety glasses.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs welding processes on aluminum and steel parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys. Determines layouts and welds parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

High School Diploma.

School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS

Full-Time 9/80 workweek. Second Shift 3:30PM-12:00 AM
