Job summary

IFH Group, Inc. is seeking a full-time Welder for its Rock Falls, Illinois fabrication team. The Welder will perform precise MIG and TIG welds, read blueprints and diagrams, and follow safety and quality standards to produce strong, accurate welds for fuel and hydraulic tanks.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to read technical drawings, and commitment to workplace safety. This on-site position includes benefits eligibility starting the first day of the month after hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree or welding certificate highly preferred.
• Two years’ experience with MIG and/or TIG welding or related fabrication preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
• Must stand for long periods and perform precise welds with strong attention to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform precise MIG and TIG weldments according to bead size and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to complete welds.
• Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely while maintaining quality standards.
• Maintain high safety and housekeeping standards on the shop floor.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely, accurate fabrication output.

This full-time Welder position is 100% on-site in Rock Falls, Illinois, and eligible for insurance benefits on the 1st day of the month following date of hire.Welder for the fabrication team plays a critical role by performing precise and strong MIG and TIG weldments with standard fabrication techniques and according to appropriate bead size and other specifications while also prioritizing safety and quality excellence. This role takes and uses accurate measurements, reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe information below describes physical activities and surroundings an individual may encounter while performing primary responsibilities and essential functions of this position. Constant moving/traversing and positioning self to reach overhead and at or below the shoulder; move and position objects up to 50 lbs.Work Environment: Constantly works in manufacturing setting on the shop floor with exposure to fluctuating temperatures and noise levels at or above 100 decibels on average. Working on the shop floor requires safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear while welding on the shop floor requires additional personal protective equipment including, but not limited to welding helmet, gloves, flame-resistant clothing (i.e., welding jacket), and respiratory protection.QualificationsHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.Associate’s degree or certificate from accredited academic institution in welding highly preferred;Two (2) years’ previous work experience with machine/metal fabrication, MIG welding, and/or TIG welding highly preferred; orCombination of college coursework and relevant work experience highly preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong work ethic with integrity while prioritizing safety and quality excellence.Knowledge, skill, and ability to perform MIG and TIG welding.Knowledge, skill, and ability to perform strong and precise weldments according to bead size and other specifications.Knowledge and ability to demonstrate basic reading, math, and writing skills.Knowledge and ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.Knowledge, ability, and skill to take and use accurate measurements.Knowledge, skill, and ability to operate and use hand and power tools, and welding and brazing equipment, torches, and shields.Ability, knowledge, and skill to demonstrate professionalism and use respectful communication with employees at all levels within the organization.Ability and willingness to comply with all company policies, processes, and procedures including, but not limited to safety and code of conduct.Knowledge and ability to apply basic computer skills.Ability and skill to fluently speak, read, write, and understand English.
