Qualifications

  • Welding experience (Arc, Tig, Mig) required.
  • Certified welders preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds as required.

  • Self-inspect and ensure welds meet quality standards.

Job description

Founded in 1921, HMC Gears has become one of the lead manufacturers of large gears, and their components, in the United States. As a custom job shop, every day brings a diverse set of challenges and successes. Our welders provide invaluable skills to our production team and take our gears to the next level.

Welders are responsible for welding and fabricating heavy metal components by hand or flame-cutting equipment according to blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SAW (submerged arc welding) welding techniques and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reading and understanding blueprints and drawings
  • Setup parts
  • Weld, cut, grind, and run production of large gears
  • Assembly and disassembly
  • Self-inspect and ensure welds meet quality standards
  • Perform preventative maintenance on welding equipment
  • Load/unload and monitor oven
  • Operating overhead cranes and forklifts

Qualifications

  • Certified welders are preferred but not required
  • Welding experience (Arc, Tig, Mig) required
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds as required without assistance
