THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will weld, braze, and cut ferrous and non-ferrous metals to complete projects involving machinery and equipment from fences and highway bridges to engines, utility distribution equipment and systems, and more! Your responsibilities will include exercising independent judgement in determining work methods and procedures, prioritizing work, and communicating with your supervisor to collectively decide whether to do the work in house or by contract so that our equipment can be utilized efficiently and productively. Our team will rely on you to maintain your knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and practices of the welding trade and demonstrate sound environmental and safety practices. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Bid shift for winter season.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
  • Completion of a three-year, high school Vo-Tech training program in welding and eighteen months of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
  • Completion of an approved welder apprentice program; or
  • A welding certificate D1.1 from the American Welding Society; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
