Job description

Job Title: Welder

Join a clean, well-organized fabrication shop where you will weld, fit, and fabricate parts used to build industrial palletizing machines. This role focuses on GMAW (MIG) welding on mild steel and gives you ownership of projects from start to finish, working on a variety of parts rather than repetitive production-line work.

Responsibilities
  • Weld mild steel components using GMAW (MIG) with .035 hard wire on material ranging from 14 gauge to 1/2 inch thick, with most work on 10 gauge and 1/4 inch.
  • Fit and fabricate parts for industrial palletizing equipment, performing your own fitting work on non-structural steel components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to understand project requirements and fabrication details.
  • Take accurate measurements and plan layouts to ensure parts are cut, fitted, and welded according to specifications.
  • Set up parts and assemblies for welding in line with project and quality standards.
  • Operate shop equipment such as bandsaws, drill presses, cold saws, and grinders to cut and prepare materials.
  • Own projects from start to finish, managing your work to complete assignments on time.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area, including proper care and storage of tools and equipment.
  • Consistently meet production targets while adhering to quality requirements and inspection standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and management to support cross-training and continuous improvement in fabrication processes.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Proficiency with GMAW (MIG) welding on mild steel using .035 hard wire.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Skill in using drill presses, grinders, bandsaws, and cold saws for metal fabrication.
  • Ability to take precise measurements and plan part layouts accurately.
  • Capability to set up parts for welding and perform basic fitting tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on meeting quality and production standards.
  • Ability to manage projects from start to finish and complete work on schedule.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience fitting and fabricating non-structural steel components.
  • Comfort working with mild steel thicknesses ranging from 14 gauge to 1/2 inch.
  • Ability to perform a variety of fabrication tasks rather than strictly production welding.
  • Willingness to learn and participate in cross-training across different fabrication processes.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability for early day-shift hours.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors on project requirements.
Why Work Here?

You will work in a clean, casual shop environment that produces high-end, innovative equipment, surrounded by friendly colleagues and supportive leadership. The culture emphasizes cross-training and skill development, giving you the chance to grow and take on varied fabrication tasks instead of repetitive production work. Once hired direct, you can access a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical coverage, a 401(k) with a 2% match, two weeks of paid time off to start, and additional paid holidays, supporting both your professional growth and work-life balance.
