Job summary

Valaris Limited in the United States, Northern Kentucky region seeks a skilled welder to support offshore operations aboard vessels. You will follow the Code of Conduct, implement HSE policies, and work to ensure first-time-right execution of welding tasks.

This role requires a valid 6GR certificate, a minimum of two years offshore experience, and a high school diploma. You will collaborate across departments, lead safety initiatives, and maintain equipment and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Complies with the company’s Code of Conduct and support policies, standards, and applicable process documentation.
• Complies with and contributes to continuous improvement of Valaris Management System (VMS), Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) related policies and procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Performs work to agreed expectations of internal and external customers, aims for first-time-right execution, and contributes to continual improvement on the rig.
• Acts as a safety leader to identify hazards and implement controls to manage risks, focusing on Permit to Work, Isolation and Hot Work procedures.
• Leads hot work-related jobs onboard the vessel and familiarizes with the vessel layout to recognize dangers.
• Maintains weldershop housekeeping and welding equipment to ensure reliability and safety devices.
• Maintains minimum equipment, spares, and material required onboard to execute jobs.
• Ensures welding jobs are planned, supervised, and executed per Valaris requirements and do not interfere with well programs.
• Informs Chief Engineer and other department heads of technical problems affecting safe operation of the vessel.
• Clearly communicates work status at end of shift.
• Promotes open communication across departments, clients, and third parties as required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Complies with and effectively contribute to the continuous improvement of Valaris Management System (VMS), Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) related policies and procedures, and relevant authority regulatory requirements.
• Performs all work according to agreed expectations of both internal and external customers, focuses on doing things right the first time, every time, and contributes actively to continual improvement activities about the rig.
• Acts as a safety leader ensuring the ongoing identification of hazards and the implementation of controls to manage associated risks with a special focus on Permit to Work, Isolation and Hot Work procedures.
• Acts as leader in executing any hot work-related jobs onboard the vessel and acquaints oneself with the lay‑out of the vessel and recognizes possible dangers.
• Maintains weldershop housekeeping and equipment welding equipment in the best possible condition with respect to reliability and safety devices.
• Under all circumstancesmaintains a minimum of equipment, spares, and material required onboard to execute jobs.
• Ensures all welding jobs are planned, organized, supervised, and executed in accordance withValaris requirements, contractual obligations anddoes notinterfere with well programs.
• Informs Chief Engineer and other department heads of any technical problems or limitations that may affect safe operation of the vessel.
• Clearly and accurately communicates work status at end of shift.
• Creates an environment in which open communication occurs between departments, clients, and third parties as required.
