MEI Industrial Solutions in Newington, NH is seeking a skilled Welder to perform MIG, TIG and Stick welding in a heavy industrial setting. This full-time role requires hands-on fabrication, rigging setup, and the ability to read blueprints and measurements.

You will work in a physically demanding environment, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate or assist with heavy equipment and lifting gear while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum three years welding experience.
  • Construction industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and measure with tape, level, square.

Responsibilities

  • Weld using MIG, TIG and Stick processes.
  • Fabricate, set up, and repair rigging, hoists and pulling gear.
  • Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.
  • Operate or assist with forklifts and other equipment.
  • Read blueprints and use measuring tools.
  • Align and anchor machinery and structures.
  • Ensure safety and quality in all tasks.

Position Summary:

The Welder is responsible for Mig, Tig and Stick types of welding.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Fabricate, set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools.
  • Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.
  • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment — running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles.
  • Controlling Machines and Processes — using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles)
  • Read blueprints, understand, show to use a tape measure, level, square.
  • Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities, and work schedules.
  • Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chain falls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other equipment.
  • Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under, and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques.
  • Install ground rigging for yarding lines, attaching chokers to logs and then to the lines.
  • Align, level, and anchor machinery.
  • Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials such as heavy equipment, ships, or theatrical sets.
  • Fabricate, set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools.
  • Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):
  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years welding experience
  • Minimum three (3) years construction industry experience
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment: hand, power and pneumatic tools.
  • Welding certification preferred.
  • Carpentry experience preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

This is very physical, hands-on work. A Welder must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving your whole body such as crawling, climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping, occasional walking and handling materials up to 50 pounds. Must have good hand eye coordination, able to stand for long periods of time, and have attention to fine detail. Willing and able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment and/or outdoors in all types of weather, and over uneven ground or terrain.
