What Will You Do?
- Perform Mig welding on various parts that are manufactured from stainless steel mild steel, with various thicknesses.
- Layout, assemble and weld according to drawings, bill of materials, work instructions, weld procedures and measuring devices.
- Ability to judge the type and gauge of steel to be welded, and make proper adjustments as required by welding procedures.
- Position welded metal parts on fixtures; attach jigs & clamps as needed to hold metal parts in proper position for welding.
- Perform complete welding and finishing operations for unit repair.
- Use various handling devices in conjunction with welding tasks.
- Accurately maintain required documentation.
- Utilize visual examination of welds for defect and verifying weld sizes with fillet gauges.
- Observe and practice safety procedures and policies, participate in safety program and department meetings.
- Train and instruct other welders.
- Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
- You may work in other departments as assigned.

- Perform Mig and Tig plate welding on various parts that are manufactured from stainless steel mild steel, with various thicknesses.
- Pipe welding.
- Perform manufacturing activities with minimal instruction and supervision.
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs and occasionally heavier (50-60 lbs) with assistance.
- Frequent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, walking and occasional crawling.
- Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of materials.
- Occasional climbing and working at elevated positions.
- Exposure to metal cutting, welding odors, welding flash and incidental acceptable limits of x‑ray radiation.
- Possible exposure to chemical odors and temperature extremes.
- Exposure to overhead objects and occasional flying debris.
- Required use of safety glasses with side shields, ANSI approved steel-toed safety shoes, hearing protection and hard hat.
Your Experience Should Be…
- Previous experience performing Mig and/or Tig welding required.
- Pipe welding experience is required or able to obtain within your certification period.
- Pipe fitting experience is preferred.
- Ability to comprehend complex blueprints and weld symbols.
- Experience with air‑arc gouging and operation of plasma cutting machines.
- Ability to accurately measure using devices such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
Successful ability to pass company welder certification tests within 4 weeks of start.
Your Education Should Be…
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical welding diploma required in lieu of welding experience.
