Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $17 - $22 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Welder:

• Read blueprints and technical drawings and take accurate measurements to plan layouts and welding procedures
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment, tools, and techniques based on project requirements
• Set up and prepare components for welding according to specifications, including cutting materials with powered saws to the required measurements
• Operate angle grinders and other tools to prepare surfaces and components for welding
• Align components using measuring tools such as calipers, rulers, and squares, and secure pieces with clamps
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions, including vertical, horizontal, and overhead
• Repair machinery, equipment, and structural components by welding broken parts and filling gaps
• Test and inspect welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify defects and ensure quality standards are met
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in a safe and operational condition
• Follow all applicable safety policies, procedures, and industry standards while performing welding tasks

Job requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures, including TIG, MMA, and other welding methods
• Experience using electrical and manual tools, such as saws, squares, calipers, and other measuring instruments
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and drawings
• Knowledge of applicable safety standards and a willingness to use personal protective equipment (PPE), including face shields, gloves, and other required safety gear
• Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required
• Professional certification, such as an AWS Welding Certification, is a plus
• Background check and Drug test required
