Job summary

Responsibilities

• Receives instructions for job from welding supervisor.
• Fits and assembles parts as required by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
• Have the aptitude to work on new products by applying welding principals and traits to weld creatively, troubleshoot potential issues and develop possible resolutions.
• Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded, assembles and welds parts to required tolerance.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds at a reasonable rate in a normal day.
• Must meet or exceed production standards.
• Ability to work without close supervision.
• Perform quality checks as instructed through quality procedures.
• Must be able to work scheduled shift as well as overtime & weekends as required.
• Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead and jib cranes in a safe and responsible manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary

Perform a variety of welding, brazing and cutting techniques using gas and electric welding equipment while observing safety regulations and engaging in Unarco’s Total Quality Management philosophy. Must be able to perform multiple tasks throughout the day in a job shop environment.

Education and/or experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1 years experience in welding or less, preferably with 6 months of formal training
