Job summary

Fabcon is hiring a Welder – Central Region to join our fabrication and erection crews building precast concrete wall panels. This permanent full-time role runs 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime. You will perform welding and general construction tasks safely and efficiently under supervision.

Requirements include welding experience, AWS 3G/4G certifications preferred, and the ability to travel and work outdoors in all weather. Union benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Welding experience required; AWS 3G and 4G certifications preferred.
• General knowledge of construction practices; 2+ years of construction or manual labor experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and general construction labor to erect precast concrete wall panels.
• Complete welding assignments safely and efficiently as part of an erection crew.
• Follow work direction from the foreperson or erection crew.
• Perform additional construction and field duties as assigned by the foreperson.
• Use materials and supplies efficiently and handle tools and equipment responsibly.
• Follow all established safety policies, procedures, and jobsite requirements.
• Maintain professional conduct and work effectively with crew members and other jobsite personnel.

To provide general construction labor tasks, in an efficient and safe manner, as part of a welding crew to erect precast concrete panels.

Salary Range: $27 - $51/hour

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding and general construction labor necessary to erect precast concrete wall panels.


• Complete welding assignments safely and efficiently as part of an erection crew.


• Follow work direction provided by the detail or erection crew foreperson.


• Perform additional construction and field duties as assigned by the foreperson.


• Use materials and supplies efficiently and handle tools and equipment responsibly.


• Follow all established safety policies, procedures, and jobsite requirements.


• Maintain professional conduct and work effectively with crew members and other jobsite personnel.

Requirements

• Welding experience required; AWS 3G and 4G welding certifications preferred.


• General knowledge of construction practices; two or more years of construction or manual labor experience preferred.


• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


• Ability to carry out simple and complex verbal instructions.


• Ability to safely work at heights, including from ladders and aerial work platforms.


• Ability to obtain membership in a local union.


• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.


• Ability to travel extensively, including overnight travel 50% or more of the time, and work overtime as required.


• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions


• Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct.


• Ability to work overtime when required.
