Job summary

Champion Personnel in Lakewood, OH, is seeking a MIG/TIG Welder-Fabricator for a contract-to-hire role with the aim of permanent employment. Schedule is Monday–Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with Saturdays as scheduled, starting at $24.00/hour.

The shop fabricates conveyors, mezzanines, cranes, stairways, railings, and other steel structures. You will read blueprints, plan layouts, weld to spec, and collaborate with engineers and shop staff.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years MIG/TIG welding and metal fabrication experience.
• Proficient blueprint and print-reading skills.
• Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving ability.
• Able to stand, bend, crouch, and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Steel-toe boots required.
• Pre-Employment: drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding in a manufacturing environment.
• Read blueprints and drawings to plan layouts and complete accurate fabrication.
• Fit, set, cut, form, bend, and weld metal parts and structures.
• Produce strong, clean welds that meet project specifications.
• Communicate with engineers, supervisors, and other shop employees.
• Complete OSHA 10 safety training during the first week.
