An established industry player is seeking a skilled welder to join their team. This role involves designing, fabricating, and repairing metal structures using various welding techniques, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. Compensation for this role: $22.00 to $27.00 DOE

Specific Responsibilities:
• Design, fabricate, join, and/or repair equipment, fixtures, and various types of metal objects and structures using oxygen-acetylene and MIG welding techniques.
• Operate drill presses, power saws, grinders, and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools.
• Analyze plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of welding assignments.
• Recommend supplies and materials to be ordered.
• Work in the prefabrication shop and on-site if required.
• Ensure housekeeping in the prefab shop is under control.
• Prepare and pack boxes to be filled with completed prefab material and shipped to the job site.
• Fabricate plugs and switches, recessed cans, and other repetitive work.
• Perform duties as assigned by lead people.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
• Welding techniques (oxygen-acetylene, electric arc “Stick”, TIG, and MIG), tools, and equipment.
• Basic work ethics (coming to work on time every day with all appropriate attire and tools).
• How to learn by doing and through example.
• Basic understanding of Algebra and Geometry.
Skill in:
• Fabrication, joining, and repair of a variety of metal objects, equipment, fixtures, and structures.
• Using basic hand tools.
• Using band saw, Sawzall, battery drills, and power drills, iron worker, plasma torch, shear, break, and CNC machines.
• Using basic cleaning tools.
• Understanding and taking direction.
• Knowledge retention.
• Performing work with hands.
• Forklift driving.
• Computer skills.
Ability to:
• Discriminate between colors.
Physical Requirements:
A functional physical is required to be completed and passed before work can be performed in all field positions. The physical requirements can often be completed repetitively and for extended periods of time. These requirements include:

• Lifting, floor to chest (up to 50lbs)
• Lifting, floor to waist (up to 50lbs)
• Lifting, waist to overhead (up to 30lbs each arm)
• Carrying (up to 50lbs)

• Kneeling
• Trimming (final installation of electrical devices)
• Pushing (up to 100lbs)
• Pulling (up to 100lbs).
Requirements:
Two to four years of welding experience or equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved. High School Diploma or GED required.
