Job summary

Monroe Truck Equipment in Joliet, IL is seeking a Welder for 1st shift to join our production team. You will read blueprints, lay out and weld parts using GMAW MIG, and fabricate non-engineered components. The role requires standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • One year certificate from college or technical school in welding/fabrication (a plus).
  • 3+ years' experience welding in a production environment.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling, or bending positions.
  • Read, understand, and carry out instructions as detailed in blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and comprehends blueprints.
  • Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding from blueprints.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
  • Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds part to secure in position for welding.
