Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking an experienced welder to join our fabrication team. You will perform MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-core welding per blueprints and drawings, read technical drawings, and prepare surfaces for robust welds.

Qualifications

  • Experience reading welding blueprints and technical drawings to determine welding process, materials and sequence.
  • Prepare surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding and beveling to ensure strong welds and proper alignment.
  • Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum for high-strength joints in complex configurations.

Responsibilities

  • Weld with MIG, TIG, stick and flux-core techniques per blueprints and drawings.
  • Inspect and test welds to verify they meet specifications and pass non-destructive testing where required.
  • Maintain welding logs, document materials used and any non-conformances.
  • Operate welding machines, grinders and cutting torches, keeping workstations clean and safe.
  • Provide maintenance fabrications and repairs for machinery and production equipment as needed.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:Welding & Fabrication:• Perform various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core, to fabricate metalparts and assemblies as per blueprints and technical drawings.• Read and interpret welding blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to determine the weldingprocess, materials, and welding sequence required.• Prepare surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and beveling, ensuring strong welds andproper alignment of metal parts.• Weld a variety of metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, to produce highstrength joints in complex configurations.• Maintain high standards of welding quality, ensuring that all welds are free from defects such ascracks, porosity, and undercuts.• Inspect and test welds to verify that they meet specifications and pass non-destructive testing.Maintenance & Repairs:• Support maintenance teams by fabricating custom replacement parts and performing repairs onmachinery, structures, and production equipment.• Modify and repair broken or worn-out equipment and machinery parts, including frames,brackets, and components, to restore functionality and ensure continued operations.• Conduct post-welding inspections to ensure structural integrity and conformity to specifications.Quality Control & Documentation:• Document welds, including materials used, work performed, and any non-conformances, toensure proper tracking and compliance with production standards.• Maintain welding logs and document any issues encountered during the welding process,ensuring accurate records for future reference.• Ensure all welding work aligns with industry codes, standards, and customer requirements.Tool & Equipment Operation:• Operate welding machines, grinders, cutting torches, and other related tools for welding, fitting,and fabrication work.• Ensure all equipment is in safe working condition, performing routine maintenance and minorrepairs as needed.• Set up welding machines according to material specifications, selecting appropriate settings foroptimal welding performance.• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of welding stations, ensuring that all tools andmaterials are readily available and properly stored.Prepared by MB-HR Generalist Approved by: VS-VP of HR Version 1.0 - Revised: 3/11/2025 Page 2 of 3Safety & Compliance:• Strictly adhere to safety standards by wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such asgloves, face shields, welding helmets, and flame-resistant clothing.• Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and ensure the workspace is clear of any fire hazards.• Participate in safety audits and contribute to the safety culture by identifying hazards andimplementing corrective actions when necessary.• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that welding fumes, sparks, and metal debrisare properly managed to minimize safety risks.Other duties as assigned.Machines & technologies you'll use:MIG WelderStick WelderFlux-Cored Arc Welder
