Summary: Responsible for various weld preparation, welding, and finishing operations to produce products according to customer drawings and specifications.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Plan work order procedures; gather tools and materials based on instructions.
• Proficient in MIG/TIG welding techniques, primarily MIG on thin gauge materials.
• Use conventional and precision measuring instruments.
• Perform process inspection, certification, and documentation.
• Repair and fabricate items using cutting, burning, and welding techniques.
• Monitor welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, or damage.
• Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces.
• Maintain and clean equipment and work area.
• Report faulty equipment or defective materials.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Thorough understanding of welding machines and tools, including maintenance and repair.
• Basic knowledge of design techniques and blueprints.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions effectively.
• Basic math skills related to welding tasks.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or a three-year in-company training program.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to weld vertical, flat, or overhead components.
• Manual dexterity and stability for precision work.
• Good close-range vision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Capability to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
