Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Welder Fitter for on-site work in El Cajon, CA. The role involves TIG and MIG welding, following blueprints and specifications to fabricate high-quality components. Four days per week on-site with first/second shifts and a weekend option, contract-to-hire.

Applicants must have TIG/MIG experience, read fabrication drawings, and be prepared to provide own hood and gloves; PPE provided for other items. This role requires attention to detail in a safe manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Set up and operate welding equipment and use fixtures, jigs, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
• Weld stainless steel, Inconel, and other alloys while maintaining high quality standards.
• Complete required production and traceability documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Support other fabrication and production activities as needed.

Job Description

• The Welder Fitter performs TIG and MIG welding on a variety of assemblies, supports a journeyman welder with fit-up and fabrication, and works from blueprints to produce high-quality welded components. This role operates in a hands‑on fabrication environment, using fixtures and hand tools to weld and assemble parts made from exotic materials and various thicknesses. The position is based on‑site in El Cajon, CA, four days per week.
• First shift schedule 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Mon-Thurs)
• Second shift schedule 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM(Mon-Thurs)
• Weekend schedule 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM (Fri-Sun)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
