Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Permanent Welder/Pipe Fitter to join our on-site manufacturing team in El Cajon, CA. The role focuses on welding and pipe fitting across copper plumbing, beams and pipelines, with emphasis on safety and quality. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of welding experience, knowledge of GTAW, TIG/MIG, fabrication, inspection, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in welding and pipe fitting.
• Experience with GTAW, Cutting, Fabrication, Inspection, TIG/MIG, and CNC grinders.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

• AWS welding certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and measurements to plan layouts.
• Weld small and large components such as copper plumbing, beams, and pipelines.
• Operate machinery for industrial welding and monitor similar machines.
• Maintain and repair all machinery.
• Assess welded surfaces and structures for defects.
• Follow safety regulations and wear PPE.
• Monitor machinery usage and temperatures.
• Weld in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Use angle grinders to prepare parts.

Job Details

We are seeking a motivated, experienced and skilled Permanent Welder/Pipe Fitter to join our dynamic team in the Manufacturing industry.

This role is integral to the success of our operations, requiring a dedicated professional with a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of welding techniques, blueprint reading, and quality control, along with experience in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Cutting, Fabrication, Inspection, TIG MIG, and CNC Grinders. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, ensuring the integrity and safety of our products.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
• Welding small and large components such as copper plumbing, beams, and pipelines.
• Use specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee machines that perform the same job.
• Maintain and repair all machinery.
• Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.
• Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
• Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
• Conduct tests and inspections of welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in welding and pipe fitting.
• Proven experience with welding techniques, GTAW, Cutting, Fabrication, Inspection, TIG MIG, and CNC Grinders.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.).
• Deftness and attention to detail.
• Proficient in English.
• Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• An aptitude for working with your hands and the ability to lift heavy equipment.
• A commitment to quality and safety.
