Job description

Job Title: Welder 2 - 1st and 3rd Shift Available

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in welding metals using GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) processes, and capable of cutting metals with Oxy-Fuel or plasma arc cutting equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform welding using GMAW and GTAW processes according to AWS and Military Standards and Specifications.
2. Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols accurately.
3. Weld in various positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.
4. Assist with constructing welding jigs and fixtures; senior roles may involve designing layouts.
5. Select appropriate welding parameters, electrodes, and filler metals for ferrous and non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.
6. Perform tack welding, heating, and cutting using Oxygen/Fuel torches.
7. Finish welds by chipping, grinding, and cleaning as necessary.
8. Verify completed welds using test equipment like gages and pressure testers.
9. Assist in designing and debugging welding fixtures and establishing welding procedures (WPS).
10. Operate various tools and equipment including welding machines, plasma cutters, and overhead cranes safely.
11. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in welding thin gauge aluminum with GTAW and GMAW processes.
• Ability to pass welding tests per AWS standards.
• Experience reading blueprints and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of welding codes and military standards.

This position is available on 1st and 3rd shifts. Candidates should be able to perform up to three types of welding processes and have experience with layout and fixture design for more senior roles.
