Job Title: WELDER 3 - 1st Shift
Location: Dallastown, PA
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Join metals using GTAW and GMAW (MIG) welding processes and cut metals with Oxy-Fuel or plasma arc cutting equipment. Proficiency in welding thin gauge aluminum with GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) is required, along with the ability to pass welding tests according to AWS codes and Military Standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Follow instructions from verbal directions, job cards, or detailed prints.
- Perform up to three types of welding processes, including GMAW & GTAW; Oxy-Fuel welding may be required for senior roles.
- Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
- Weld in various positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead.
- Assist with or construct welding jigs and fixtures; senior roles may involve designing layouts.
- Select appropriate welding parameters, electrodes, and filler metals for ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
- Perform tack welding and use Oxygen/Fuel torches for heating and cutting.
- Finish welds by chipping, grinding, and cleaning.
- Prepare joints, clamp, verify measurements, inspect welds, and count finished pieces.
- Use test equipment to check weld quality.
- Senior roles assist in designing welding fixtures and establishing welding procedures.
- Operate various tools and equipment, including welding machines, plasma cutters, and grinders.
- Operate overhead cranes and hoists safely.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

- Effectively interact with peers, supervisors, and the public as needed.
- Follow workplace rules and safety protocols.
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Understand welding equipment and properties of metals; read detailed prints.
- Pass welder certification tests.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational welding degree preferred.
- At least 4 years of related welding experience.
- Ability to read tape measures, convert fractions and decimals, and interpret blueprints and routings.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work on the shop floor environment.
- Stand and sit for long periods; perform repetitive motions.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Tolerate constant noise and pass pulmonary function tests.
- Follow safety precautions using PPE.
