What You’ll Do

The Welder is responsible for fabricating, fitting, repairing, and welding metal components used in the production of building products, structural assemblies, and related equipment. This role performs precision welding and metal fabrication while ensuring work meets company quality standards, customer specifications, and safety requirements. The Welder reviews production drawings, prepares materials, performs high-quality welds, inspects completed work, and supports production schedules through safe, efficient manufacturing practices. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast‑paced manufacturing or fabrication environment.

Welding & Fabrication
  • Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux‑Core, or other required welding processes on production, fabrication, and repair projects according to work orders and specifications
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, engineering drawings, and production work orders
  • Measure, lay out, fit, cut, grind, and prepare steel components for fabrication and assembly
  • Set up welding equipment, fixtures, clamps, and materials according to production specifications
  • Align and secure components using appropriate measuring and layout tools
  • Fabricate, modify, and repair metal components and assemblies to meet dimensional and quality requirements
  • Perform torch cutting, material preparation, and finishing operations as required
  • Produce quality welds while maintaining production schedules and efficiency standards
Production Support
  • Work on multiple fabrication and welding projects simultaneously while meeting production schedules
  • Lift, move, stage, stack, and organize raw materials and completed products safely
  • Coordinate with production, fabrication, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure materials are available when needed
  • Assist with fabrication, assembly, and production activities as business needs require
  • Complete production reports, quality documentation, and operational records as required
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and workflow
Quality Control
  • Inspect completed welds and fabricated products for quality, dimensional accuracy, and structural integrity
  • Verify finished products meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and company quality standards
  • Identify weld defects, fabrication issues, or non‑conforming products and perform corrective work as necessary
  • Report quality concerns or production issues promptly
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency throughout the fabrication process
Equipment & Maintenance
  • Safely operate welding equipment, torches, grinders, saws, cutting equipment, and other fabrication tools
  • Perform routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance on welding equipment and workstations
  • Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly
  • Maintain welding consumables, tools, and shop supplies
  • Ensure tools and equipment are cleaned, organized, and properly stored after use
Safety & Operational Excellence
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements
  • Wear required PPE including welding helmets, gloves, face shields, hearing protection, and protective clothing
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout each shift
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, accidents, injuries, or near misses immediately
  • Participate in required safety meetings and job‑specific training
  • Promote a safety‑first culture and contribute to operational excellence
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring

  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of welding or metal fabrication experience
  • Experience in manufacturing, structural steel, rebar fabrication, industrial fabrication, or construction environments
  • Previous MIG welding experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferred
  • AWS welding certification or equivalent technical certification preferred
  • Welding trade school or apprenticeship training is a plus
  • Experience with MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux‑Core welding processes
  • Experience operating fabrication equipment including grinders, saws, clamps, and layout tools
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification is a plus
  • Work is performed in manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, and industrial environments
  • Frequent exposure to welding equipment, sparks, heat, fumes, noise, dust, moving machinery, and heavy materials
  • Ability to stand continuously throughout the workday and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials weighing 50–75 pounds
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, climbing, and repetitive hand movements
  • Manual dexterity required to safely operate welding equipment and fabrication tools
  • Ability to wear required PPE throughout the workday
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment as authorized
  • May require overtime or extended hours based on production schedules
