Job summary

QXO is seeking a dedicated metal fabrication associate to operate fabrication equipment and manage warehouse duties in a full-time role in the US. You will read blueprints, inspect products, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards while assisting with inventory and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Ideal candidates have experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing, can operate forklifts and heavy equipment, and are capable of lifting heavy materials under demanding

Qualifications

• Experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to operate fabrication machinery safely.
• Strong mechanical skills and tolerances understanding.
• Experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment.
• Physically able to lift heavy materials and work in demanding conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate metal fabrication equipment (shears, brakes, rollers, cutting machines) per specs.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measurements for accuracy.
• Inspect finished products for quality and standards compliance.
• Maintain and troubleshoot fabrication machinery for optimal performance.
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Assist with inventory management of metal sheets and materials.
• Collaborate with team to maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Operate warehouse equipment to load/unload and move materials.
• Verify order contents and maintain documentation.
• Preserve a safe and clean work area, including cleaning and painting.

What you'll do:

• Operate metal fabrication equipment (shears, brakes, rollers, and cutting machines) to produce roofing components according to specifications.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measurements to ensure accuracy in production.
• Inspect finished products for quality and compliance with standards.
• Maintain and troubleshoot fabrication machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Demonstrate a daily commitment to safety and adhere diligently to all safety protocols, while always wearing appropriate PPE.
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving and organizing metal sheets and related materials.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Operate Warehouse equipment to load, unload, and move materials in warehouse and yard.
• Work outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions.
• Verify order contents and maintain documentation.
• Inspect, organize, maintain, and track inventory.
• Preserve safe and clean work environment which includes cleaning and painting.

Shift and Schedule

• Full‑Time Position
• Monday–Friday.
• Start time 7am until work is done, around 5pm.
• Flexibility in schedule to accommodate OT and/or weekends based on business needs.

What you'll bring:

• Previous experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or building supply industry preferred.
• Ability to operate fabrication machinery safely and efficiently.
• Strong mechanical skills and understanding of basic measurements and tolerances.
• Experience operating forklifts and other heavy equipment; warehouse experience preferred.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions.
• Commitment to providing an outstanding experience to customers, vendors, and co‑workers through effective verbal and written communication and a customer‑first mindset.
• Reliable transportation to and from work, with the ability to consistently work early morning hours.
