Job summary

Mettler Toledo is seeking a Welder III on the 2nd shift in Columbus, OH. This advanced welding role requires interpreting complex blueprints, setting up welding equipment, and ensuring high quality in accordance with procedures and safety standards.

You will mentor Level 1 and 2 welders, lead small CI projects, collaborate with engineering and production teams, and promote a culture of safety while maintaining productivity.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Trade school/Apprenticeship Program and 5-15 years of experience in a similar position preferred or completion of an accredited welding program and 4 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced welding operations on a variety of materials.
  • Interpret and analyze complex blueprints, schematics and engineering specifications.
  • Set up and calibrate welding equipment and tools.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of welds and components to meet industry quality standards.
  • Provide support and guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 welders.
  • Participate in advanced 5S and Lean initiatives.
  • Lead small groups in problem statement creation and small CI project implementation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the team.
  • Perform all Welder 1 and Welder 2 tasks when necessary.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The Masstron Producing Organization (MTMS) designs, develops, and produces products within the METTLER TOLEDO Vehicle and Heavy Capacity (HC) product families. The MTMS Welder III is responsible for performing advanced welding tasks, overseeing complex problems, and ensuring high-quality standards are met in accordance with established procedures and safety protocols within the HC Value Stream. The responsibilities are as follows:

  • Perform advanced welding operations on a variety of materials.
  • Interpret and analyze complex blueprints, schematics and engineering specifications.
  • Set up and calibrate welding equipment and tools.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of welds and components to meet industry quality standards.
  • Provide support and guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 welders.
  • Participate in advanced 5S and Lean initiatives.

This role is for the 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM

What You Need to Succeed
  • High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Trade school/Apprenticeship Program and 5-15 years of experience in a similar position preferred or completion of an accredited welding program and 4 years of experience preferred.

This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.
