Job summary

METTLER TOLEDO is seeking a Floor Scale Assembler in Columbus, OH to accurately assemble products using production orders, blueprints, and documentation while entering data into SAP.

You will maintain records, manage stock, and prepare orders, with involvement in 5S and Lean initiatives and data collection. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with ability to read prints and work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products using production orders, blueprints, and other documents.
  • Maintain accurate records (production orders, test sheets, shipping docs, TPM sheets).
  • Manage stock, pull items, assemble/pack, and assist other departments to fulfill orders.
  • Accurately pick/pack BOM items; work from schedules and instructions.
  • Participate in 5S and Lean initiatives and collect SQDC data.

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The Floor Scale Assembler is responsible for accurately completing assembly functions and quality product assembly utilizing production supporting documentation; including but not limited to production orders, standard work, blueprints and other documents related to the assembly of products all while accurately entering data into the ERP (e.g. SAP) system and ensure that the orders are assembled appropriately. What you will do:

  • Maintain accurate written records such as production orders, test sheets, shipping documentation, pack lists, and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) sheets.
  • Maintain stock control, pull items for orders, assemble / pack products, work in other departments, and complete other related duties as required to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Accurately picked/pack all items in the BOM.
  • Work from order schedules as well as from verbal and written instructions.
  • Participate in a 5S and Lean initiatives.
  • Apply basic computer skills involving SAP and Microsoft Office, as well as aid in accurate collection of SQDC data.
  • Use of forklifts, pallet jacks and handcarts and use of cranes and jib hoists.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
What You Need to Succeed
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team or an individual basis as well as safe and effective use of tools such as banders, cutters, staplers, hand / pneumatic tools, and hand tools (power screwdriver, torque wrench, hand wrenches, etc.).
  • Have basic computer knowledge / skills and use of SAP).
  • Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to understand fractions, decimals, and measurement techniques.
  • Ability and drive to meet customer quality and delivery requirements.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to inspect own work and the work of others.
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work overtime when required (some could be on weekends).
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow shipping / assembly / test / quality assurance procedures and engineering prints.
