About The Role

As a Welder at Ohio Ordnance Works, you'll be part of our dynamic manufacturing team responsible for creating high-quality welded components and sub-assemblies in a fast-paced environment. Working primarily Monday through Thursday during first shift, your attention to detail will be critical to ensuring daily production goals are met while maintaining the highest quality standards. You'll collaborate closely with other welders and Team Leads to drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of our manufacturing operations. This position offers the opportunity to apply your welding expertise in a precision manufacturing environment where quality and safety are paramount.

What You'll Do

  • Perform assigned welding jobs and tasks to meet company's high standards as directed by Team Lead
  • Follow daily production targets while ensuring weld quality meets all company specifications
  • Utilize MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding processes to create quality components
  • Inspect and maintain welding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Assist in coordinating job changeovers, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are prepared for smooth transitions
  • Collaborate with Team Lead to address and troubleshoot welding-related challenges
  • Support production-related projects, questions, and troubleshooting needs
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and responses to quality-related issues
  • Facilitate or assist with routine safety, quality, and skills training as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or welding-focused work environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding processes
  • Knowledge of basic inspection methods for welded components
  • Ability to read and interpret basic welding specifications and work instructions
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR
  • Must not be a prohibited person under the Gun Control Act (GCA), codified at 18 U.S.C.
  • 922(g)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of welding experience in precision manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting weld symbols
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes
  • AWS (American Welding Society) certification in relevant welding processes
  • Experience in firearms manufacturing or similar precision industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software
  • Demonstrated experience training or mentoring junior welders
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality in the workplace
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and adaptability to change
  • Career-minded with desire to grow professionally within the company

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed across a 10-acre campus with six buildings, requiring frequent walking between facilities in all weather conditions
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noises, bright lights, moving machinery, and potentially hazardous materials
  • Welding tasks require standing or walking for up to 90% of the shift with frequent bending and kneeling
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including welding masks and gloves, in designated areas
  • Occasional lifting up to 100 lbs and frequent handling of parts, fixtures, or tools weighing 5-25 lbs
  • Work environment includes typical welding hazards requiring strict adherence to safety protocols

The Pay Range For This Role Is

24 - 30 USD per hour(US)
