Job summary

Ravelin Defense Inc. is seeking a Welder I to fabricate mechanical parts in a production setting. You will use hand tools and welding processes, read blueprints, and follow written and verbal instructions to produce quality joints.

Responsibilities include deburring and surface prep, applying standard shop practices, and recording work in the enterprise system. This role requires safety awareness and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years working in a fabrication environment.
• Able to read a tape measure and mark locations within 1/16" (.062").
• Basic knowledge of welding with formal training in GMAW/FCAW.
• Good understanding of weld symbols.
• Ability to read basic blueprints.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Welder I is responsible for the general fabrication of mechanical parts. This position may also be asked to use pneumatic or electric hand tools to perform such tasks as deburr or surface prep of metal parts. This position must be able to follow both written and verbal work instructions as well as interface with the enterprise time keeping system as well as interface with machine controls. This position must also be able to use and read basic machine shop measuring equipment that includes, but may not be limited to dial calipers, tape measures, and protractors.This position will take direction from the area lead or supervisor as required. Subject to hazards including, electrical current, moving mechanical parts, chips, dust, exposure to chemicals, debris and intense heat.
