Job summary

U.S. Bridge in Cambridge, OH is seeking a Welder for our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will perform weld prep, welding, and finishing to exact customer drawings and specs.

You will interpret weld symbols, select appropriate filler materials, set up machines, and inspect work with standard measuring tools. We offer competitive compensation, benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma (or equivalent) with successful completion of an internal welding test.
• One-year welding experience preferred; demonstrates proficiency in multiple welding forms.

Responsibilities

• Weld preparation, welding and finishing to customer drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in assigned welding techniques.
• Interpret mechanical drawings and weld symbol requirements.
• Know how to select and apply wire and filler materials for steel alloys, aluminum, and exotic materials.
• Set up fixtures and welding parameters (amps, volts, etc.).
• Use conventional and precision measuring instruments for inspection.
• Perform process inspection, certification, and maintain documentation.
• Maintain welding equipment and perform finish grinding with hand/power tools.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Summary:

Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Proficient in assigned welding techniques

I nterpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology

Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials

Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)

Conventional and precision measuring instruments

Process inspection, certification, and documentation

Welding equipment maintenance

Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools

Safety and Housekeeping

Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor

High School diploma, or equivalent, and: Successful completion of an internal welding test. One-year experience in various forms of welding.

This position is required to work in manufacturing environment facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is may exposed to work near loud and moving mechanical parts. For this reason, hearing and eye protection are requited.
