Job summary

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a skilled welder for on-site work to troubleshoot welding processes and maintain compliance with blueprints and safety standards.

The role involves reviewing process changes, updating documentation, and conducting capability studies to ensure high-quality outputs. The ideal candidate has at least three years of welding experience in manufacturing, a strong attention to detail, and the physical stamina to perform extended shifts.

Qualifications

  • Three years professional welding experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots welding processes, tooling, and equipment and suggests corrective actions to resolve.
  • Notifies production leaders of any process improvements being addressed and if workflow deviation is necessary.
  • Completes process checks on the manufacturing floor to verify weld compliance and capability.
  • Maintains welding process documents. Ensures each workstation has the necessary and accurate documentation.
  • Runs capability studies and documents appropriately.
  • Trains manufacturing personnel on process changes or updates.
  • Assists in launches by following sample parts and new jobs through production. Ensures each new part is placed in quarantine and inspected appropriately.
  • Analyzes scrap and rework and suggests corrective action.
  • Assists weld operators and welders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Skills Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and schematics.

  • Physical stamina to work in various positions for extended periods.
Educational Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.

Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Some physical demand. Often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
  • Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling, and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
  • Ability to operate machinery over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
  • Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
  • May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection must be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
