Job summary

Flexicrew Technical Services is seeking a Welder II / Welder-Fitter in Broussard, LA. The role involves welding MIG/TIG, reading blueprints, fabricating components, and assembling structures.

Job description

(Broussard,LA): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking aWelder II / Welder-Fitter to join our team.

Essential Duties:
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and other approved welding processes.
  • Qualify to FTS-approved 6GR welding procedures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders.
  • Lay out materials and prepare components for fabrication.
  • Cut materials using band saws, ironworkers, track torches, and hand torches.
  • Tack, fit, bolt, clamp, and assemble structural components.
  • Fabricate skids, stacking assemblies, water tank stands, transformer frames, and housing unit components.
  • Repair and modify existing equipment by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling components.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment safely.
  • Load and unload materials while maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
  • Follow all company quality standards, safety policies, and HSE procedures.
  • Participate in field service assignments and on-call work as required.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
Requirements/Skills:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of welding and fabrication experience.
  • 6GR welding certification or the ability to successfully qualify.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience with MIG, TIG, and structural welding processes.
  • Strong fabrication, fitting, measuring, and layout skills.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and occasional call-outs as needed.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical, agility test, and drug screen.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and commitment to quality workmanship.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly; heavier materials with assistance or lifting equipment.
  • Perform repetitive motions involving hands, arms, and shoulders.
  • Work in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and welding fumes.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
