Wastequip has an immediate opening for a Welder at our Williamstown, NJ manufacturing facility. This is a full-time position offering comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401K, paid vacation and sick leave, among others. The ideal candidate will have MIG welding experience in a manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities
- Position parts in jigs or fixtures, or clamp parts along layout marks.
- Lay out, position, and tack weld workpieces.
- MIG weld along vertical, horizontal, and overhead lines.
- Connect regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders, operate cutting torch, and adjust gas flow to cut metal.
- Inspect welds for quality and specifications.
- Prepare welds by scarffing or grooving as needed.
- Remove excess weld material, slag, or splatter.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Regularly stand, walk, reach, stoop, lift, climb, or balance; kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift and move up to 25 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 90 lbs occasionally.
- Maintain specific vision abilities including distance, close, peripheral, and depth perception.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or technical school preferred.
- Experience with MIG welding is required.
- At least six months of related experience or training preferred.
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions, memos, and correspondence.
- Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and measurements accurately.
- Experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred.
- Must pass all EHS tests and clearances.
