Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder to support production and manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for fitting and welding components using blueprints, work instructions, and welding specifications to produce high-quality finished products. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, the ability to consistently produce quality welds, and a strong understanding of weld quality standards, including the identification and prevention of common weld defects such as porosity and undercut.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and adjust welding equipment for various materials and applications.
  • Perform MIG welding according to print specifications and production requirements.
  • Produce strong, consistent welds that meet company quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Inspect finished welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
  • Identify and correct common weld defects, including porosity, undercut, lack of fusion, and excessive spatter.
  • Make machine and technique adjustments to maintain weld quality and production efficiency.
  • Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely.
  • Assist with assembly processes using fixtures and production tools.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of welding experience or vocational training.
  • Experience with MIG welding required.
  • Ability to weld flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to visually inspect weld and make adjustments to ensure quality results.
  • Knowledge of fabrication and welding equipment.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in various welding positions, including kneeling, standing, and overhead work.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule with overtime as needed.
