Job summary

Surge Staffing in Canton, OH is seeking a dependable MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. You will read blueprints, set up welding equipment, MIG weld aluminum, steel and stainless steel, and inspect welds for quality.

Overhead cranes or forklifts experience is a plus, with a fast-paced production environment requiring reliability. Responsibilities include loading/positioning materials, maintaining a safe work area, and documenting production and quality records.

Qualifications

  • MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications.
  • Experience welding aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.
  • Knowledge of welding equipment setup, measuring tools, and shop equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to lift materials, stand for extended periods, and work safely in a production environment.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, fixtures, clamps, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Load, position, and secure materials for welding.
  • Adjust welding equipment settings based on material type and thickness.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production instructions.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and customer standards.
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks to move materials (where certified).
  • Perform layout work, weld in multiple positions, and complete metal finishing as required.
  • Assist with building weld fixtures and perform routine equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable and skilled MIG Welder to join our team. In this role, you will fabricate and weld metal components while ensuring quality workmanship, safety, and productivity. The ideal candidate is experienced with blueprint reading, various metal types, and maintaining high quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MIG welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components according to blueprints and specifications.
