Job summary

The Job Store Staffing is seeking a skilled Fabrication Welder in Colorado to join our team. This role handles layout, fit-up, fabrication, assembly, and welding of structural components, skids, platforms, and related equipment, with potential focus on Welder I or II based on experience.

You will read drawings, weld carbon and stainless steel, operate fabrication equipment, ensure quality, safety, and mentor peers.

Qualifications

• Read fabrication drawings, shop prints and welding symbols.
• Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel and other alloys.
• Layout, fit-up and fabrication of structural assemblies.
• Ability to pass company welding qualification tests.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate skids, platforms, pipe supports, frames, and other components.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, alignment and orientation.
• Prepare materials and welds through grinding, beveling and fitting.
• Operate press brakes, plate rolls, band saws, ironworkers, grinders and hand tools.
• Safely operate overhead cranes and material-handling equipment.
• Inspect completed work against drawings, specs and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow safety policies.
• Mentor less experienced welders and fabricators as appropriate.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Welder to join our team. This role is responsible for the layout, fit-up, fabrication, assembly, and welding of structural components, skids, platforms, supports, pressure vessel components, and custom-fabricated equipment.

Depending on your experience and skill level, this position may focus on both fitting and welding responsibilities. We are open to candidates at the Fabrication Welder I or II level and offer an opportunity to grow your skills while working on a variety of custom fabrication projects.

What You'll Do

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, shop prints, and welding symbols.
• Perform welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys as required.
• Layout, fit, assemble, and fabricate structural and custom assemblies.
• Fabricate skids, platforms, pipe supports, frames, and other structural components.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, alignment, and assembly orientation.
• Prepare materials and welds through grinding, beveling, fitting, and other preparation methods.
• Operate fabrication equipment such as press brakes, plate rolls, band saws, ironworkers, magnetic drills, grinders, and hand tools.
• Safely operate overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and other material-handling equipment.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Support team members and assist with training or mentoring less experienced welders and fabricators as appropriate.

What We're Looking For

• 1-3 years of welding or fabrication experience for a Fabrication Welder I; 3-5+ years preferred for a Fabrication Welder II.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
• Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys.
• Experience with layout, fit-up, and fabrication of structural assemblies.
• Experience operating fabrication equipment such as press brakes, plate rolls, and similar equipment is a plus.
• Ability to successfully complete company welding qualification tests.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Candidates must be able to safely operate hand and power tools and wear required PPE, including a welding helmet, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and protective clothing.
