Job summary

Harris American Company in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Fabricator to join the team. You will fabricate, fit, and assemble structural components, interpret blueprints, and apply welding techniques to produce quality welds.

Responsibilities include setting up equipment, preparing surfaces, welding in multiple positions, inspecting joints, and performing post‑weld finishing. Safety compliance and teamwork are essential for large projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as a Fabricator.
• Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Operate fabrication tools including grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work specifications.
• Concentrate for extended periods.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication, time management, planning, and organizational skills.
• Physical ability to lift at least 75 pounds.

• Inspect welded joints for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards
• Perform post‑welding processes such as grinding, sanding, and polishing to achieve smooth finishes
• Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment and prevent accidents

Job description

We are looking to hire a hard‑working and skilled Fabricator to fabricate, fit, and assemble the structural components of various equipment. The Fabricator will join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques, interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process, and inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness. The right candidate should be familiar with and comply with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a hazardous environment, as well as possess the ability to collaborate with other Fabricators and Welders on large‑scale projects.

Requirements

• Proven quality experience working as a Fabricator (at least 2 years)
• Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening
• The ability to maneuver fabrication tools including but not limited to grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, etc.
• The ability to interpret blueprints and work specifications
• The ability to concentrate for extended periods
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication, time‑management, planning, and organizational skills
• Physical ability to lift at least 75 pounds or more
