Job summary

Staffmark is seeking a Welder in Alexandria, MN to perform MIG/TIG welding, fabrication, and repair of metal components. You will read blueprints, inspect welds, and ensure dimensional accuracy while operating forklifts and overhead cranes as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with welding certification or technical training preferred. Prior MIG/TIG experience and ERP/CAD familiarity are valued. Competitive weekly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect welds and verify materials are positioned as per specs.

• Move materials using forklifts and overhead cranes; operate welding tables.
• Accurately record production and inventory transactions in the ERP system.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and comply with safety procedures.
• Assist with training and mentoring team members; support continuous improvement.

• Nights | 4:30 PM – 3 AM | Monday – Thursday

Education Requirements

Job Duties

• Perform MIG and/or TIG welding, cutting, grinding, and finishing operations
• Inspect weldments and verify materials are positioned according to specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering documents
• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy
• Move materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, welding tables, and approved equipment
• Accurately record production and inventory transactions within the ERP system
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while following safety procedures
• Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and report concerns promptly
• Assist with training and mentoring team members when needed
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity
• Meet production deadlines and customer expectations

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand and walk for up to 100% of the shift
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb as needed
• Ability to work beneath equipment, in confined spaces, and on elevated structures
• Ability to safely operate welding equipment, forklifts, and overhead cranes
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE

What You Will Do

As a Welder you will prepare materials, set up welding equipment, perform MIG welding operations, inspect completed welds, read blueprints, verify measurements, and help fabricate metal components according to engineering specifications. You will maintain welding equipment, follow quality standards, and support safe, efficient manufacturing operations while producing consistent, high-quality work.

The Welder plays an important role in manufacturing by producing quality welded assemblies that support a wide range of industrial applications. This position requires technical welding ability, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safe work practices.
