Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Robotic Welding Technician (Programmer) to program, troubleshoot, and prep welding robots for production at our Glendale, AZ facility. You will train operators and programmers while pursuing continuous improvement of cycle times and throughput.

A focus on safety and quality is essential to success. The role requires strong English communication, blueprint comprehension, and proficiency with GMAW processes, with some travel for machine-specific training.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Must be able to read and interpret welding blueprints.
• Must pass print reading, measurement, and fraction/decimal conversion tests.
• Demonstrate high level of mechanical aptitude (non-traditional backgrounds welcome).
• Excellent computer skills.
• Able to travel for machine-specific training with robotic company.
• Knowledge and experience using the GMAW processes.

Responsibilities

• Programming, troubleshooting, debugging and preparation of welding robots for production.
• Teach and train robot operators as well as programmers.

Work Environment: The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands: The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
