Job summary

Sodecia in Center Line, MI seeks a 2nd shift Weld Technician to oversee electro/mechanical maintenance and setup of automated welding/assembly equipment, including robotics, PLC, weld controls, fixtures, sensors, and vision systems. Overtime after 40 hours applies; starting pay is $33.90 per hour.

Responsibilities include mechanical repair, fixture setup, PM documentation, and supporting quality/environmental systems and commissioning of new welding equipment.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechatronics or related field is required.
• 2 years of welding manufacturing machine repair experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical repair on all automated welding machinery/robotics.
• Modify weld fixtures setup to improve welds/components position per drawings.
• Support production supervisors/weld technicians.
• Validate and maintain PM records of welding equipment.
• Optimize welding consumables performance.
• Support plant quality system.
• Participate in development of Environmental Quality Systems.
• Assist in commissioning new welding equipment.
• Troubleshooting and machine repair.
• Strong understanding of pneumatics/hydraulics.

2nd Shift -2PM to 10PM -Center Line

The Weld Technician oversees the electro/mechanical maintenance and setup of all automated welding/assembly equipment in the plant on a day-to-day basis, including Robotics, PLC, Weld Controls, Weld Guns, Fixtures, Sensors, Vision systems and pneumatic components. $33.90 plus OT over 40 hours.

• Mechanical Repair on all Automated Welding Machinery/Robotics
• Modify Weld Fixtures Setup to improve or correct welds/components position as per drawing specifications
• Support Production Supervisors/Weld Technicians
• Validate and maintain PM records of welding equipment
• Optimize the performance of welding consumables
• Support Plant Quality System
• Active participation in the implementation & development of Environmental Quality Systems
