Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a skilled welder to operate spot-welding equipment and repair sheet metal components on a Monday–Friday first shift (6 AM–2 PM) at the Walker, MI facility. You will calibrate welding gear, maintain tools, and adhere to safety guidelines while efficiently managing parts flow and plant operations.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of welding experience, are certified in MIG/TIG welding, and can read and follow work instructions in English.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to safely perform duties.
• 3–5 years of relevant welding experience.
• Certified in MIG and/or TIG welding.

Responsibilities

• Operate a spot-welding machine to join or repair sheet metal/steel parts or components.
• Calibrate welding equipment.
• Maintain tools in good working order.
• Perform work in accordance with safety procedures.
• Tag parts and move them to the correct location in the plant/facility.
• Participate in preventative actions and utilize the ERP system (Plexus).
• Conduct housekeeping in the work area.
• Maintain welding equipment.
