Job summary

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. seeks a Welder to join our manufacturing team in Bedford. You will weld metal components by following work instructions and basic blueprints, ensuring quality and adherence to established procedures and safety standards.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, setting up welding equipment, preparing materials, inspecting welds, and assisting in troubleshooting while maintaining tools and PPE. You may operate welding robots, saws, and grinders as needed.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of welding processes and techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
  • General knowledge of welding codes, standards, and safety practices.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to learning quality workmanship.
  • Physical stamina to work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Experience Requirements
  • Some prior experience or training in welding preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to complete a certified welding program or apprenticeship is preferred.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Some physical demand; often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
  • Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
  • Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
  • Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
  • May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
