Job summary

PTC is seeking a Weld Mill Operator Trainee in Fairbury, IL to learn and perform mill setup and production tasks. You will work under supervision to adjust and operate a tube mill, inspect product quality, and document results in computer records.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, ability to stand, walk, and bend for long periods, and a HS diploma or GED. Safety and quality are emphasized throughout daily duties in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Ability to reason through problems involving adjustments to equipment.
• Average background in math and computers.

Responsibilities

• Set up the mill using setup charts and reference manual.
• Direct and assist crew during setup and production.
• Operate tube mill to produce quality product with minimal waste.
• Inspect product measurements (length, gauge, OD size, ID cut) and weld integrity.
• Enter data into computer and document setup; run eddy current tester.
• Ensure safety of self and crew; maintain cleanliness and order in the plant.
