Job summary

ZAP Engineering and Construction Services, Inc. is seeking an EPC Project Assistant in Lakewood, CO. The role focuses on weld map data entry, annotating welds, and ensuring full traceability through WeldTrace and NDT results.

You will also prepare test packages for hydrostatic and pneumatic tests and support quantity takeoffs for project controls. The position is office-based with standard hours, offering a path into project controls, estimating, QA/QC, and related fields within EPC construction

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail entering high volumes of technical data.
• Ability to read construction drawings (isometrics, P&IDs, weld maps).
• Proficient with MS Office suite (Excel/Word/Outlook).
• Good math skills for areas, volumes, weights, and linear footage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to self-direct and manage timelines.

Responsibilities

• Annotate weld maps in WeldTrace with weld numbers, IDs, procedures, and dates.
• Enter welding and NDT results and materials data for traceability.
• Prepare piping test books (hydrostatic/pneumatic) with boundaries and test details.
• Edit and check test packages for accuracy and completeness.
• Compile weld, material, and NDT records for turnover.
• Perform quantity takeoffs: concrete, structural steel, pipe footage, weld inches, flange counts.
